Mirror Mod

Looking for a neat way to get a bit more rearward visibility (no stick-ons), I got it into my mind to replace the flat-glass in the LHD, N.A. driver side mirror with a convex glass from a UK RHD left mirror. No joy; the Guru in the UK says both mirrors there have flat glass. Dang.

I thought there was a vendor on here early on who was going over to source convex replacements... a guy from S Carolina? Maybe an e-bay seller?

It could be that the convex mirror with the warning label is a North American-only thing. Fact is, that of all the cars I have rented or ridden in in Continental Europe, I don't recall one with a convex mirror. I was hoping that the UK was different. Be a nice touch for an aftermarketeer.

I replaced my dr. side mirror with the un-heated european glass and was very happy with the extra visibility it gives. No more blind spot. There is a thread way back there that has the info and the part #. It can be ordered thru your dealer.

I've taken the liberty of requesting one of our supporting vendors look into the possibility of supplying a convex glass.
