I am working on a new project on my smart (do not want to reveal project till finished!) and need some help. I am trying to find some sort of table or tray that is 10-12X7-9" that can go in the passenger seat without removing the ability to actually sit down. I envision it attaching to the glove compartment, it is okay if I need to remove the door for the glove compartment. If this doesn't make sense, please forgive me as its 2 am. I will try to clarify tomorrow if needed.
How about one of those plastic trays that you can usually buy at Associated Grocer or whatever wholesale-but-they-sell-to-whomever-walks-in-the-door place that would sell kitchen or restaurant or food items to small merchants. I've seen a couple of sizes of trays there.
jwight, the problem with those desks are that they take up the passenger seat. Can't have that! I am going to spend some time with my smart to try to figure something out...
Whatever the project, remember that it should not impede the bags deployment, nor be an obstacle between the knees and the knee pad. Just to be safe... if it's for "while in motion".
I was looking at that one but it only fits on the steering wheel or the back of the seat. I do not plan on having this mod be near the air bags. Take a look at the glove compartment area. What I am thinking is using the rounded area in front of the compartment, having a support above and below it.
