New 451 Tail Pipe Tip

I have posted pictures of a new exhaust tip for the U.S. Smart Fortwo. Just wanted to get opinions on it from other Smart owners. I got it from an eBay.UK vendor who specializes in Smart Car Parts and Accessories. He is developing this tip with a major exhaust co in Europe. This one I installed is the prototype for what will be the production version and is the first one made specifically for the U.S. Smart's. It does not affect the performance nor change the sound of the stock exhaust, just the look. The total cost including freight from the U.K. is right around $100 US, which may be a little high for an exhaust tip, but is much cheaper than a complete system. The quality is excellent, and installation is a snap. Pictures can be seen at the exterior modification gallery under exhaust. I tried to add the to this post, but couldn't get them to show up here. It's held on securely by a muffler clamp which I painted with hi-heat black paint so it doesn't show.

I like the look but not the location... but that's just my opinion. The craftsmanship looks great however.

I like the looks of this exhaust finisher or tail pipe tip. I would also like to see a single exit finisher or tip as well. Please keep us informed as to when this product will be available for the US version 451.

i am pete from the UK, i,m a site member and a smartie for the last 6 years.

i own a smart fortwo 2005 tuned and modified, i also have a smart 44 brabus car, no longer manufactured but a great motor.(177 BHP )

ref this exhaust tip, i have sold many of this type worldwide for lots of different smart cars from my ebay shop named smart-car-bits-shop

the US car has a different stub pipe to the other smart models and this is the reason for the delay.
its not easy to get manufacturers to change quickly, also i dont know how popular this pipe is going to be.

ref a single version, anything is possible , but again i would need forward projections on how of these smarties are likely to take up.

please note i have many parts for smarties in my shop for the 450, 451, roadster and forfour models.

i am happy to send a package of parts and if special parts are required you can always contact me.

Sorry but your tip looks like this one at half the price.

Plus any muffler shop can install it in about 5 mins for approx. $10.
