New BP twin-tip center exhaust

I put mine on yesterday (it's good to have a friend who's a mechanic!). I love the sound of the sport exhaust. It's louder and throaty and gives the car some attitude.

I wrote up my experience and posted lots of pictures on my blog here.

If that's an Xterra in front of your smart, you are driving the same vehicles as my wife and I.

Nice writeup! Nice blog as well!

In one of your posts on there you put

There are a few big hills on the way home, and one of them proved a bit of a challenge for the little smart's (and smart's little) engine. It was interesting to note that, as the speed dropped below 60 and the engine downshifted, the hazard lights came on automatically. That smart really is smart!"
Have you ever had this happen again? I know that if you abruptly stop from higher speeds it will switch the flashers on for you - but I didn't know it would come on in this situation. It makes me wonder exactly how the lights are triggered - intertia or via the yaw sensors rather than just a line of code somewhere.

Yep, a 2001 Xterra. I'm keeping that for the long upstate NY winters. The poor thing sits in my driveway and collects dirt and bird poop, while my smart gets washed at least once a week!

No, not yet. It is theoretically possible I was reaching for the radio at some point and hit the hazards and just didn't notice until then. But that's unlikely, since I had never done that before or after. I read in the manual about the hazards coming on when breaking hard, but it didn't mention anything about hills or the engine. It would be interesting to know what caused that, assuming it wasn't some stupid human error of mine.

My guess is you bumped the switch; putting the flashers on at 55 mph or so is not a feature of the fortwo.
