Hey, I REALLY like that trim painted black. Um, how did you paint it? I mean with what?

Actually I really do know that but it holds more truth than "Powered by Mercedes". whether true or not. I make it a point to steer people right when they ask, "That's made by Mercedes, right?" Then I have to go into the whole Daimler, Mercedes, now Chrysler is not affiliated anymore blah blah blah even though it does have a Mitsubishi motor etc etc etc.

Designed by Mercedes, powered by Mitsubishi would stop a lot of the questions.

Cube, if you want to leave that on there - do it. It's your car. Though some of the Mercedes purists are rabid and Smart tipping may be their next plan of action. (Just kidding)

Here is what I used:

1. First of all, I sanded rings with fine sandpaper.
2. Used automotive black primer.
3 Painted with automotive gloss black paint.
4. Clearcoated them.

Under overwhelming pressure from smart community I removed offensive and repulsive badge.........

.

Actually, I wanted to remove it for some time, mainly because my car doesn't have any smart emblems and people tailgating me dangerously close @80MPH just to try to read my "Powered by Mercedes" badge.

Too bad that you chose to cave in to pressure from the few smart community members. The fact of the matter is "The car is owned by Mercedes and built by smart."

Hmm. I don't know that it's owned by Mercedes unless MBCC financed it for him...

Your pal,

NP! If you decided to get it from Tom (aka Smartbillet), make sure to order "Brushed aluminum" finish.
