This shold be renamed to Coupe owners...
Yep. I like that idea.
And yes, the glass release for our Coupes is the same button that just opens the tailgate on the cabrio. I've gotten to play with both...

Hey, Smart engineers!

Add a sensor for glass open/shut (if it's not already there) so the button under the handle releases the glass if the glass is shut. If the glass is open, have it release the gate!

The Glass is electronicly released from the area by the license plate light in the coupe. One reason not to keep your jumper cables in the tailgate. Because if the Bartery is dead, the glass will not open. Without the glass open, you can't open the tailgate manualy.

So in the end, If you have an arm full of stuff and you want to put them into the cargo area of the Coupe, you need to electronicly release the Glass either from the key fob or by touching the little button. You then need to pull back on two levers. If you only have one hand its a back and fourth motion at least 3 times. This mod will cut it down to release right, release left, gate goes down

Hey forest. That's cool you've become so attached to the battery on your car you even named it Bart-ery..

Dave. Nice idea. I normally do what forest said by moving back and forth a few times when my hands are full. Cool thing about it is I know I have a decent spring assortment in the garage so this won't cost me anything.
