Mermaid007, I'm jealous. A smart in Maui. Is it a Cabrio? If so, I'm doubly jealous.
Help me through this one. Wouldn't you need to have the key to unlock the car and to put the ignition in the "ON" position?
I love push button starters but I'm thinking it might be a bit superfluous in the smart. With our cars you just need to flick the key clockwise to "START" and release setting on the starter unlike many keyed starter switches that make you hold the key in the start position to give power to the starter motor until the engine catches.
