Racing Stripe - Paint or Sticker?

I would love to put a Racing Stripe down the middle of my Smart Car when I get it. But Should I have it painted on? Or should I have a sticker put on? I want a professional look that will last years. I have no idea where to have something like this done. Who would paint a stripe on, and who would put a sticker on? I'm afraid if I order a stick and tried to put in on myself, I wouldn't be able to put it on straight, or I would put it on with air bubbles. Any Suggestions anyone? I am new to the Charleston, WV area, and have no idea who would do this type of work. Help please.

My nephew does this type work on the side, he had a shop, but got a better deal on a job with career potential at one of the local plants. When you get your car, let me know and I will put you in touch with him. He lives in Tornado, WV and works in Charleston. I have seen his work with stick on decal type (he used to do police, fire and ambulance vehicles as well as hot rods) and he is also a pro at airbrushing. ;)

Really freak 'em all out, get another set of same color panels and switch back and forth.

Definitely go with the vinyl. Also, check out BMW MINI parts. BMW has part numbers for the stripes that goes across the roof of the MINI. They are two straight lines and parallel to each other. I think they should be enough for our smarts. Just trim as needed.

MINI part numbers:

51140411943 white
51140411945 black
51140411946 red

So, does the vinyl stick like a bumper sticker or just with static? I'm thinking about a silver offset strip down the left side of the bonnet, but I have the "clear bra". Will that be a problem?

These guys make smart racing stripes, but shipping from the UK is kinda spendy.

Vinyl Stickers on Body panels

also the strait Colors that are Moldet in color have a clear coat for UV Protecion.
You schoulnd use cheap Sticker material expecialy strong Colors (Red, Pink, Purple ...). This could end in Bleeding of the Film Color into the BodyPanel Material. When you ever want to remove the stickers, you still can see shadows. On better Materials this usualy doesn´t happen.

I just received my smart design stickers. Enough stripes to cover front and rear. Question now is what numbers should I use...
