Raised Lip rubber mat over engine?

Somewhere in all these threads someone was talking about getting a raised lip rubber mat that went over the 451 US models engine compartment area where you would put groceries.

Anyone knows where to get one and how much?

Gordon

I got mine last week at the dealer in Louisville. They had them in stock. It has velcro molded in the back and that holds it. It was $97 + tax, not a great value.
It could fit the area a little better and I'm not crazy about it being slippery and the edges flimsy. On a 1-10 scale, maybe a 3.

Sounds like it is a thin hard plastic instead of thick rubber, like a rubbermaid product would be. Is it? I would like to have one that is made like the rubber floor mats are.

Anybody close to Downers Grove, IL? MacNeil Automotive makes Weather Tech mats for all sorts of cars - except the smart. Maybe if somebody showed up with a car they would be interested in checking it out.

UPDATE: got an e-mail from them; no plans to make products for the smart.

Not as stiff as Rubbermaid, but not hard either, too thin for my tastes.

Trunk/Boot Tray+

Re Weather Tech mats: If you go to their website<www.WeatherTech.com> there is a place to contact them regarding new products. If enough smart owners contact them, they will likely add smart mats to their product line.
I bought the smart trunk tray at smart center Cherry Hill, and am very happy with it. There are several other trunk additions in the printed smart catalogue.
I also added the luggage compartment cover from smart. Nifty. And, it reduces engine noise in cabin a bit.

I wrote them about a week ago and they indicated that at this time they had no plans to make products for smarts
