Bunch of comedians on this board!

I have lived in AZ for 21 years. I am immune to the heat. Just not my hands. Ha Ha..

Like someone else said there is no shade here. Maybe I will carry around one of those silicon jar openers and I can just use that. Won't take up any room. Still interested in a permanent solution.

It's not even that hot in PHX yet... just wait!

When I lived there (IF you can call that living), I had VWs with no A/C and black 'leatherette' upholstery. Just try sitting on black vinyl in your summer shorts or grabbing the black plastic steering wheel after it's been in your locked-up car in 115-degree weather for a couple of hours. It's easy to get the interior up to 200 degrees.

My advice is always the same: Get out of that place!

LOL

Never been in PHX for more than a couple hours. I still remember landing there for layovers, plane starts to cook the moment it hits the runway...

Any chance you know the person that won the Powerball up there this weekend? If they threw me a million bucks Minnesota might be a possibility. At least it's the dry heat down here!

I asked him that a while back - too bad it's a Photoshop window shade.

Oh yeah, 120 in the shade and the humidity matters? At that point you're being cooked to perfection no matter what.

My kitchen oven has dry heat, too... so anytime I get homesick for Phoenix, I just go stick my head in there for 5 seconds to recall the good times.

Or this. Sits all day in the Sunshine State, and never too hot.

Check out the plastic piece on the back of a 2008 Chevy Tahoe rear window.
It's available through a Chevy dealer. About $30.00.

come on John.... 120 in the shade????... sorry do not buy it

Some of AZ can see 114 and occasionally 118 but NOT "in the shade"

Phoenix because of man made humidity can be a bear but no worse then most coastal areas

I personally hate WDC in the summer 89~94F @ 90% after leaving Cen Tex's 98F @ 63%.... I really enjoy a trip to Ft Hauchuca 103F @ 13%.... it is quite comfortable

In fact Az and other high plateau areas with low humidity are quite comfortable "in the shade" (if you can find any).... on a recent test I had use of a thermal gun at Ft Huachuca... OAT (reported) was 103F @ 13%... temp "in the shade" (shot the ground) was 88F .... significant differential

Iraq on the other hand is not fun.... 118F @ 54% hurts... we have recorded 136F on the airfield near Baghdad
