Removing the center console

Does anyone have a link that can show me how to remove the center console I mean totally out of the car? I've searched and search on here but cant find one. I can lift the front up about an inch to reset the shifter but I cant figure out what is holding the back on...

Thank you,
-Chris

From a post by Smart Enuf:
Removing the console is actually easy. Gently remove the hole cover beneath the parking brake handle with a small flathead screwdriver. Remove the Torx screw that lies underneath; I think it's a T-15 or T-20. Then remove the shifter knob (see DIY gear shift removal and lube (short video)). Next, shove your fingers under the front of the console cover (removing the cupholders first may make this easier) and lift up gently. The console cover should come right off. Finally, use a putty knife or other thin instrument to gently pry off the coinholder assembly and let that drop through so that you can remove the whole console cover. Now the cover is off so you can drill into it as you please, but keep whatever bolts you put into it to the minimum length necessary. Reassembly is simply the above in reverse (push down on the console until it clicks; the trick here is to line up the ignition hole with the ignition).

I looked at that video but it only shows how to remove the shifter knob but not the whole console.

yes! thanx man i really appreciate it

lol i saw that plug and thought "man i wonder if there is a screw under that" but dismissed it and kept pulling upward like a cave man

the whole reason i'm doing this is to put a couple toggle switches between the coin holder and the shifter for my fog lights and other mods

thanx again

well actually my plans for this weekend:

1.) remove coil over shocks - cut springs to lower smart ( yes because im cheap )
2.) machine shock shafts in lathe to prevent them bottoming out
3.) wire my fog lights - manually because my smart wasnt programmed for them
4.) rewire my tach as i seem to have a short in it
5.) make my cigarette lighter "always on" to charge zee black berry when car is not on
6.) finish installing my air horn

we'll see how much of this actually gets accomplished, but this are muh goals as odd / stupid as they may seem.

i'd install a rocket launcher but the thought of it on the roof affecting my aerodynamics concerns me =)

firework shooter is more apealing and offers more possibilites
