Removing OEM sub

I need to get the OEM sub out from under the driver's seat and found some directions and I think I can do it with a minimum amount of trouble. I was looking at the seat mounts the other day but couldn't see the mounts for the sub where I was looking. My question is do I need to remove the T50 bolts or can I just take the seat out w/ that bracket still attached?I don't want to buy a 4th set of Torx bits just to get a T50,I already have 3 sets!

It's not the T50 you need, but a T45. The T50 holds the seat to the front bracket but the front bracket has the subwoofer "tongues" mounted underneath with a T45 holding the assembly together. The rear is just T45.

The stuff I put together a while back is http://somesmart.info/Radio10plus.pdf.

You can buy one T45 Torx socket bit from your local auto-parts place for $5 or less.

Well, that didn't go as planned.3 of the 4 bolts came out easy as pie but the 4th wouldn't budge. it's the front one next to the console and my hands just aren't strong enough to get a good grip on the driver. i'll have the pros get the sub out while they are putting in the amp next week.
by the way, while I had the carpet pulled back to get at the battery I found out that the padding is soaked! If i touched it water would actually drip out and the tridion had a puddle on it also. Now I have to go have this fixed.

Good luck on the soak! Water problems are troublesome.

The T45 bolts are big enough that a socket wrench is really the way to go, also for putting things back together so the fit is tight. The good new is that it should take minutes for them to remove the subwoofer - low labor costs. But $5 will get you that 3/8" T45 socket bit from your local auto place!

I have the T45 but didn't think of using a socket wrench
