Seat Rail Blocks

After years of driving, Honda CRX's and Del Sol's, I prefer the seating position of my Suzuki Samurai's and my X-90. Took a test drive in Milwaukee Saturday, weather was crappy out ( Snowy, slick blah blah ) coming from De Pere. However that gave me a better feel how it would do in the winter weather we finally got. Handled well. Doh, I'm rambling.... back to topic... I'm 5'9 and with the Smart it sits higher then my CRX's and Del Sol's I've owned, but not like my Samurai's or X-90. I prefer my legs bent in more of a chair position then out stretched along the floor. So after some searching i found this site and looks to be what I'm looking for

What a great idea! I never even thought of raising the seat. Thanks for bringing me back to this web site. I was there and wanted to come back in the future but forgot where it was. It's bookmarked now. Thanks

Update 451

Contacted web site got this reply regarding the seat blocks;

Then I'm presuming you mean the new 451 model (2008). The height adjustment blocks are in the 450 section and will only fit on models built before 2007. There is no similar product for the new model at this time.

I can't help but wonder if it would compromise safety and the security/action of the seat in the event of an accident anyway - I'd considered some kind of alteration like that but simply would not want to experiment and have any kind of bad unforeseen repercussions.

Perhaps replacing the seat rails would be a possible option for you, places that handle racing seats could probably help you and maybe even fabricate new rails for not too much $.

What's wrong with just sitting on a cushion?

Hey safety first! Comfort wasn't my goal here. Sit on a cushion I was looking for more room/options for my custom subwoofer speaker box. I'm not going to give up on this. The more I think about it the custom seat rails both the drivers and passengers are going to be my first smart passion mod if and when I get it.

Seat heaters don't work through a cushion

Although I wouldn't mind up higher a bit to change my position to the wheel I'm not all that concerned about it and personally wouldn't go to great lengths to change things.
