smart signal mirrors might make sense

I like this, especially if you have a Pure with manual mirrors.

Saw that product on Motorweek today but it seems to me that the only advantage is the lights. A problem is that most people do not adjust their side mirrors correctly. If they are adjusted correctly there is no blind spot.

It would bother me to have the mirror area reduced. I am not that crazy about the stick on mirrors, though I have considered them.

Although it doesn't solve the problem of people that don't know how to adjust their mirrors properly (see posts elswhere on this subject on this site) the turn warning issue might be met by connecting the side marker lights to the turn signal circuit.

Anyone got thoughts on how to do it?

Evilution has info on his site about adding the smart mirrors with turn signals to the 450 model (mirrors are from the Japanese version.) Haven't seen anything yet for the 451s.

With the side marker fender lights that flash and the rear lights that flash with the signals, I see no use for turn mirrors.

I've ordered parts to make my own. I made indicator wing mirrors for my first car long before you could buy replacement mirrors with them in.

I did purchase a small stick on for the driver side only. Although I would agree that it is usually a mirror adjustment problem, I have a Cabrio and there is undoubtedly a blind spot. After a couple of close calls, pulling in front of people on my left, I purchased the small mirror and it's been working great. At only $5, I can do without the lights.

If you adjust your mirrors correctly, even in a cabrio there is no blind spot!
