Strange storage spot

anybody else have the cute little storage area in the passenger side footwell area. i mean its way up undeneath, way up there. kinda tough to get to while driving. what the heck is it for?
i had my wallet on the seat, had to brake and it dissappeared. it took hours to find it there.

Are you talking about the tire repair kit location, by any chance?

That's where my wife puts her purse when we're traveling. That's a HUGE package shelf that works GREAT!

I don't think you are talking about the spare tire kit storage....That is under the flloor board, you have to lift up a panel to access it. I doubt your wallet on the seat next to you, would end up there with a sudden breaking. I'll have to go look now you have me wondering.

I put my DC-AC converter on that shelf. Not normally visible, but readily accessible and within reach of the 12-volt outlet.

It's where I put my USB flash drive or my iPod Classic 120GB that interface to my Alpine iDA-X001. I'm going to make a Velcro-backed holder for the iPod. By putting it there, it's completely hidden from thieves. No cords dangling out. Nothing to tip them off that there might be anything in the car other than an in-dash radio.

I was so impressed with the Velcro hold-down for the owner's manual pocket, I'll probably be using Velcro to mount my power amp under the passenger seat when I install that.
