I Did not get that it was a Pivot untill that last picture. Nice idea. Sure beats the Bumper bolt ones being sold.

Does the one made by Curt work with the Curt hitch with the smaller and lower mounted reciever?

I'd prefer it dead center (or a little higher) of the tailgate, like a Jeep. Yep, directly in the way of the license plate !!

Put a license plate bracket in the center of the spare, run a light/wire to the trailer plug, and all is good !

Or get a No Holes License Plate Bracket from SmartMadness and put the plate in a rear tow hole.

I have a front OEM rim up for sale. it would look great on that mount. I have one on e-bay also.

Jay. Did you consider making the mounting plate a little higher like Mud Pie just suggested. If you decide to sell these keep in mind that most people out there with hitches have the Curt hitch which has been noted, is very low. FWIW, I'd consider elongating the mounting plate a good 10-12 inches to compensate for the the low clearance Curt hitch and also bringing the top of the tire to just below of the license plate without blocking it. That's just what I'd do.

It's a great idea, very innovative and don't listen to the naysayers - everyone is entitled to an opinion though.
