Good work Jay. You know you are one of my heroes. $90 for a hitch and spare tire rack......I'm all choked up. I can't build smart parts, I just spend too much money on them. I'm waiting for you to make yourself some bumpers so I'm not the only car in town that people try to pick up.
I have seen your Smart.
It's outstanding with gadgets and features.
I will never catch up.
With the spare tire, I sort of have a rear bumper.
However, I do want a front bumper like yours.
Very neat Swing-down Spare Tire Rack, by ExonicJay, so where can I get one, and if not available, then how about a link to measurements/diagrams? Thanks from Dan in Ruskin, FL.

Hi Dan,
I am retired and not really looking for any addition work.
But, work on the Smart is hardly work.
So, I am making another spare tire carrier prototype.
This one will place the tire higher and require the license plate to be relocated.
I will post details with some drawings.
Stay tuned.
Nice Photochop smark! That actually looks good. If there was just a portion around the tire itself leaving the rim exposed it would resemble a continental kit of the day (way back when).
ExconicJay, another idea. Do a swing back. Like a bike rack. so you can open the tail gate in the back. Buy a front license bracket, that screws into the rear tow hook. You have everything set to do this. Gives you a lot of ground clearance. Set up a small led lamp for the plate in the back.
Smark, that looks really sharp. I'd love to have one like that even if I have to buy a wheel to put on it. Recently sold my two fronts that I had replaced with two rears!
Would be well worth it.

Smark:
That is COOL looking!
Your work up looks like a goal for my next pro-type.
I am all over this.
Nice job.
Thanks.
