Third brake light pulsar

Because the smart is so small, these things will help get the attention of the folks behind you when you put on the brakes (same reason motorcycle owners add them.) Here's one source for a universal type that can be fitted to the smart:

Actually I like the way the factory smarts handle this in they automatically flash the brake lights if you break hard from a high speed, I've seen these flashing lights on other vehicles and the default ones get really annoying being behind someone with them as they keep flashing in stop/go traffic. Even with these options you only get a 15 second moment of silence.

It would be nice to have these items not come on if you break from anything less then say 10 or so, anyone know of something like the smart system that is tied also into the vehicles speed?

The ones at the link above have a delay feature:

The "Delay-Repeat" circuit means the brake lights have to be off for at least 15 seconds before the cycle can be restarted. So, if you are in bumper-to-bumper traffic, the brake light isn't always pulsing.

I got behind some fool in an Odyssey with one of these things the other day. There was relatively heavy fog out, and it was so distracting that I couldn't see.

I would prefer some really bright LEDs, and the system that MB uses that the smart already has.

Does anyone know if the CHMSL in the fortwo is LED?
