Please check out Clubsmartcar.com in Canada. They have extensive research on smart trailers and several members have them. Member Bilgladstone has provided the most information if I'm not mistaken. Good luck, Regina

I just do not know yet if this is a viable option, these are great solutions, if we get rid of the family van.
This site has moved to Motorcycle Trailer Guide.

Maybe I could get one shipped from Germany.

Tent trailer -- rollahome

By far the best tent trailer I have come across for my SMART and for our past Civic is the rollahome. Check it out at rollahome dot com. Made in the USA and at a dry weight of 300 lbs, these trailers tow straight as an arrow and have the best balance I have experienced. Have a SMART and happy day!

Brian,

I have lusted after that German trailer for more than three years... Oh how I wish they were available in North America!

So last fall I finally gave up. Got myself a lightly-used aluminum box trailer with a clamshell lid that I reckon to convert to a tent-sided overnight sleeper.

But the hard-sided, low-floor, insulated "Wohnwagen" with lovely big windows is my dream trailer.

There is a trailer sort of like it made in Quebec, the Eco 12 - Ultra light travel trailer but it is much too heavy for the smart.

Is somebody out there interested in importing a few Wohnwagens for resale?

While you obviously came on here to sell us something, But...

I like the accessible storage area while on the road

And this is how you get to it from inside the tent

Starting at $4,000
And this should have no problem sharing the garage with a smart

Tent trailer

Interesting that you mention the storage factor. Big help when you only have a two car garage and lots of snow in the winter. Oh, and I am not a rep nor have any involvement with any trailer company, just sharing my experience. Now back to my coffee...
