According to the manual, you can turn off the automatic locking feature by pressing the "unlock" button on the dash while "simultaneously" pressing the "unlock" button on the key fob. You should hear a confirmation tone to let you know that it's "disabled." If you want to re-engage the function, do the same thing with the "lock" buttons as opposed to the "unlock" buttons.

I still think you'd probably have to press the "unlock" on the dash at least once to unlock the rear window/tailgate, but then it should remain unlocked until you lock the doors again. Yes?? Hopefully!!
