What brand of lowering springs is the best to buy? First of all, I am really not interested in slamming it to the ground (a slight to moderate drop only). I just would like to reduce the hobby horse effect as my main goal. I would like to maintain as much good ride quality as possible. I do realize that you have to give up something with this modification. Has anyone had experience with the different types or brands of spring kits available. Your help will be appreciated. THANKS!!!
In the past I have owned 5 different Mustangs and went through several different brands of springs on them. Eibachs I have found to be the best ride in all my experience thats why I ordered a set today for my Smart. From what I under stand it will drop an inch front and rear and they are the same series on my 2003 Cobra before I swapped it out for a coil over setup. The direct link for the springs that I ordered is http://www.ajusa.com/browse/vehicle/...86f3fed2fe6e57 and it was $235 delivered with tax. I'll have them in next week and give my review of them.
I installed some H & R Springs in mine. Part #29345 and it lowered it .50 in the front and 1.2 in the rear. It took out 80% of that rocking motion and it rides AWESOME. It has a sporty feel but not harsh at all considering I have 17'' Lorinser wheels on it too.
i've used Eibach on my CRX and the ride quality was excellent and i went with a 1.75", i believe. not so sure i would want to drop the smart that much, but an inch would probably be good.
Nice wheels!!! Have they been posted before and I just missed them, or what?? Would like some specifics when you get a chance, tires & wheels springs and struts, etc...
As Jeepster55 says, Sweet!!
I had an s2000 and would get blown all over the road in windy situations. I lowered it and it helped the situation a lot. I wonder if this is the same with the smart. Any input from those guys that lowered theirs?
