I'd like to know how much it would cost to get a Chromaflair paint job (like RMichael in Austin has)? I think the chromaflair is a truly beautiful thing but I can't seem to find much information about getting your car repainted....

Why are some members so quick to point out that someone already mentioned a topic in another post? What is the big deal if there are more than 2 posts on the same subject?

I'm not defending the multiple post violator just curious why the need to comment on the violation (if it is in fact a violation).

Getting the car painted is going to vary from shop to shop. Call a couple local body shops and get quotes. Go check 'em out and look at their work for quality.

when i had my body kit painted at a local body shop (they also do all the work for the dealership where i bought the smart) i asked them "how much to paint the whole car" i just about feel over when they told me $4,800.00. they had TWO cars there that were just completed, one LIME GREEN the other PINK, too much if you ask me

PS look at the car from SMARTF1, in my opinion that is by far the best looking SMART that i have seen.

Just curious, was it a Lime Green Metallic? or just a lime green? A lot of the time metallics are more. (mine will be going metallic SOON! Priced paint this weekend for the exact color I want.

i worked in a body shop for years. Candy paint is very expensive, and somewhat difficult to work with. additionally plastic panels require more prep work to prevent the paint from peeling when the panels flex. I'd say to do the whole car trid in cluded you are looking at at least $3K. To do just the panels you could probably get it under $2K. Check local body shops, someone might cut you a deal. but be sure the shop is reputable, and be wary of any prices that seem obnoxiously low.

agree with evilbean - candy is costly. may be cheaper if you removed all the panels yourself? don't know. might be worth it to buy a second set of panels in white plastic to be painted rather than painting the existing ones (assuming they are already painted).
