What I'd like to see is something tied in with the rain sensor. In the warm weather I usually park my Smart with the windows cracked when I'm at work or at home. I want something that would roll the windows up automatically if it starts to rain and maybe down a little after the rain stops if it is hot in the car (when in some sort of auto mode)

Geez. Didn't mean to cause such hostility. Sarcasm doesn't always translate in writing. Though I'm not sure how it could be interpreted as "incredibly whiny'. Anyway, was just a question and seemed a lot less dangerous/risky/foolish than a lot of other mods people are sharing information on in these forums.

mmmeat & SunDiego, thanks for the response, and your sense of humor.

grwhitaker, deep breaths. I understand the idea of auto-up windows is a hot-button issue...

Be sure to run without calling 911 after you kill someone like a local cop here did...

I would like to add the auto-up option for the driver side. It is useful when entering a parking garage, so that I can get both hands on the wheel more quickly and don't have to turn with one hand up the (curved) ramp while holding the window up button with the left hand. I don't buy the safety argument as even my 6 year old Honda has this function and an obstruction in the window will stop the window motor. Is there a solution that is less clunky, i.e. uses software or entirely replaces the existing switch unit?
