1. When you get a system installed Eclipse Nav... Do you get your old raido back?? Never had a system installed before so I guess I need to know if I should have gotten it back..

2. Got the AVN62D installed by my Smart Dealer before delivery. My question is can you disconnect the parking brake wire to unleash the unit so IPOD control and DVD video can work while car is in gear????

This stuff is all new to me so if these are 101 type questions forgive me..

Regardless of whether this was a dealer or sound shop install, YOU OWNED the orginal factory radio.

Unless they gave you a credit on the install for the factory head, you should have gotten that radio back when you picked up the car. That would then give you the option to uninstall your upgrade and restore the factory radio if you chose to when selling (or sell it on SCOA).

That being said, today YOUR original factory radio is likely on eBay!

You absolutely should get your old radio back. You should get all the boxes from your new stuff and the manuals. Most installers will give you the option to unleash your unit. They will do so in a manner which will in theory protect them from liability. Ask them if your will be able to watch DVD while driving wink wink. If they want to sell the unit, they understand.
