aftermarket tweeters in factory location?

I recently bought an Infiniti kappa (6030 if I'm not mistaken) component speaker set. The woofers fit and sound, although I had to surface mount them since they were too deep and got in the way of the window mechanism. I prefered a factory looking install but atleast its in the factory location. I overlooked on the otherhand, the size of the tweeters. They are way too big to fit in the factory location. I would again prefer a factory looking install but I shaved down the size of one of the tweeters as much as possible and its just too big.
Is there a good quality pair of tweeters that will fit in the factory location? I would like if I didn't have to install tweeters in the pillars like many have because then if I decide I want them somewhere else or get different speakers of a different size ill have to replace those pillar covers.

So I'm hopefully there is a pair of tweeters out there that fit in the factory tweeter location.

Mount the tweeters close to the woofers

I used JL Audio component speakers. This advice is in JL Audio’s speaker installation instructions: “As a general rule, the tweeters should be placed relatively close to the woofers for best tonal balance and most coherent imaging (the closer; the better). Any separation greater than 8 inches (20 cm) is likely to result in degraded sound quality.”

The TR650-CSi speakers are slightly larger than factory speakers. I front mounted them using CubeFX’s instructions. For the tweeters, I used a hole saw to cut into the door near the woofers. Sound quality is excellent.

Tip: After you cut the first hole, make a paper template of the two speaker holes. Use it to make a hole in the same relative position in the other door.

I have the same idea but the factory tweeters are so small, no third party tweeter will fit.

factory tweets are only 8mm in height

Nothing stopping you taking a Dremmel to the existing clips and making some new holders for aftermarket tweeters. Doesn't help you lot much but some standard Fiat tweeters fit in the stock position in the smart.
