Ditto, on the Dodge antenna.
Bought it for $5.50 from Dodge dealer in Tinley Park, IL. Looks great, but the reception is the same for the base radio unit.

BUT, it looks so SMART!

Please help me understand. Is the reception degraded? Is there a difference between the radio 9 and radio 10 reception?

Suzuki Part # is 39251-81JA0 List price $17.52 -straight bolt on with no modifications needed - smooth outside surface (no coils showing). Reception is at least as good as stock, possibly better. The parts guy was not sure what year Grand Vitara this fit, but there was another part number that was a similar antenna, only with a fatter base that would take some modification.

Reception is equally as good as with the factory antenna based on my experience with the Dodge Avenger Antenna. There should be no difference in reception between the Radio 9 & 10.
