AUX line in the glovebox?

I just picked up a new smart and the dealer told me i need to spend 80$ to make the AUX input work? Is this correct even though the AUX input is there?

I havent tried it yet since i have to get a wire but just curious before i do.

Stop! Make it work? All you need is an aux cable to go from your audio device to the aux input - 5 or 6 bucks from Radio Shack, etc. If you have an iPod, then you'll need a cable specific for that device; several threads in the Audio & Video forum on how to hook up an iPod.

Yup thats what i thought too made no sense to me.

I have a 3G so no need to worry about the extended jack wire just a regular 3.5MM male to male should work.

Yep... I have a 3g and all you need is the headphone 3.5mm connector.
