Cannot Decide

I need some help from my fellow smarties.

Which unit should I get? The Kenwood 8120 or the F900BT or maybe something else?

I see mixed reviews and I am just not sure.

I did already order the sub, harness, kit and adapter from 4smartcar.com

Please help!!! Its driving me crazy!!!!

Thanks,
Eric

I have an AVIC D3 and like the quality from Pioneer. From what I've heard the F900BT boot time is still long (even with the new update). But the features in it are pretty nice.

Yeah the boot time would really bother me. I heard the same thing so maybe I am leaning towards the Kenwood.....

Try going to a local audio shop or big box store and see if they have any you can try. That'd be your best bet.

Odd. I've been eyeballing the F90BT. As best as I can tell, F90BT and F900BT are precisely the same unit.

Pioneer AVIC-F900BT

Pioneer AVIC-F90BT

One thing I would change. Larger hard drive, available for storing and playing mp3s. But, unless something more exciting comes along soon, this will likely be my choice.

How long is the boot time?

I did and I was told the f90BT is getting discontinued and the Kenwood was much nicer........so I think that is the verdict.

With my AVIC-D3 I did the bypass - didn't buy the over priced stuff on eBay. Found it for free on the internet from AVIC411.com . Not sure if there is a forum like that for the Kenwoods or anything.

If you just want to swap speakers out I'd reccomend the Polk DB651's or the DB675's. I installed the 675's and they were very nice. I decided to upgrade again and put those in the back and went with some MB Quart 6.5's up front with the tweeters in the triangle mirror pieces, MTX Audio 4 Channel amp and a 8" Infinity sub under the dash. Sounds really good.
