Door Speaker Recommendations???

Any recommendations of a specific speaker brand and model that was installed in the doors?

I've already replaced the smart radio 10 with a Pioneer Avic D3 and am disappointed with the sound from the factory upgraded speakers in the doors, dash and under the driver's seat.

I'm likely going with a separate amp under the passenger seat and am looking to go high end with component speakers in the door for the mids and on the pillar for the tweeters.

Any recommendations are appreciated!

POLK DB651 fits fine and was an easy install. I cut the center out of the stock
speakers and mounted the polks to the flange that was left from the stock speakers. The sound was MUCH improved. I also installed a Pioneer Z3 system with HD Radio, XM, TV, DVD, Backup Camera ,Bluetooth , and full navigation.
I also unlocked it so all functions work at all speeds.

A lot of people in Europe (mainly Germany) have replaced the original door speakers with standard 16,5cm speakers. (should be approx. 6,5in)

The mounting depth should then be below 70mm (2,75 in)

Below is a link to one of the biggest smart forums in Germany, and there is quite a few smart-owners which have replaced the original speakers.
In general they don’t use the standard speaker grill, in that way it is possibly to mount the speaker from the front and not from “behind” as the standard speaker.

I know a lot of you don’t speak or read German (mine is not too good either) but if you go to page 4 of the tread, there is pictures of the “operation”
