I just reserved my Smart 2 days ago, and was looking at a list of options. The dealer in East Hartford, CT has a standalone Eclipse In dash Navi option. I was wondering, do all dealers have this option? If anyone has this unit, how do you like it?
Other than financing a radio as a part of your deal I don't see a good reason to buy a radio from any dealer. The job is to pad their profit. If you want something other than a factory look order the car without a radio and then pick what you want when you get it. If you just reserved the car there will probably be 2-3 new versions of what you are looking at today. Do a search for the Eclipse. I don't own one but I think others have been happy with it.
I just got back from the east harford dealer today and notice this unit installed in one of the smarts on the floor. I asked for a handout on the unit, and was given a pamphet on the model AVN52D. Looking through google, seems the model is also refered to as AVN5510 with some reviews. I ask what they were charging for the unit, and was told $1999. I did not ask what was included, since there are a number of installable options that don't come with the base unit.
I was wondering, do all dealers have this option? If anyone has this unit, how do you like it?
