FYI, my Radio 9 plays MP3 Discs!
Hello All,
I've read several posts on here reporting that the Radio9 option does not play MP3 cds, I've honestly not read the Radio Manual yet, but I did pop an MP3 cd I already had (my other car can play them) and it handled it with no problem. The Seek/Scan buttons appear to control the next/prev folder tasks. Perhaps the 09 stereos are different than the 08s. Perhaps it's even posted on here elsewhere, but just wanted to clear that up for everyone.

haha. cool.. Yeah, they were old posts. I found one in particular that specifically said it would not play MP3s, I think it was on SmartInsider or somewhere other than here. I grabbed my manual, and it is indeed in there. Glad it is, I can hold off on upgrading the stereo quite a bit longer and build a CarPC like I want!

It's probably because it's a lot of new people just getting there cars now, and the questions are the same for many people, even if they have been answered before. It's like that on most car forums, I hate to be guilty of it too (I run another quite large vehicle specific forum), but it's pretty easy to miss the information that might be out there already.

NeWave: And the only thing better than that is an In-Dash Navigation system with DVD playback. 1,400-1,500 songs beats 200 songs. :P
Sucks that in-dash nav systems don't have the greatest processing power. a 60-80GB hard drive connected to the USB port would probably work even BETTER!

I don't know what Nav system you're using. But, mine accepts USB hard drive and thumb drives. It DOES have a limitation of only 255 files per folder, which irritates me. But, hey, name the folders 00 through 99 (100x255=25,500) more titles than most people are interested in.

Well, when the last car you had didn't play more than a regular CD, that MP3 cd is wonderful. That, and it's much cheaper than an in dash navigation system with dvd playback... I blew that money on a sub and amp. :P
