Got a 'take off' Smart radio......

Got my Smart without a radio planning on a aftermarket system. I was then able to buy a Smart 'take off' base model radio for $25. Now I need to put it in. Anything I need to know? I know how to get the filler plate off the dash but is there anything 'unusual' I need to know before I start??? TIA!!!

You shouldn't come up with anything unexpected, it's all pretty straight forward.

How's the AM reception; I'm still hearing complaints about that.

I'll check AM next time I am where I can! I live in a VERY rural area with one AM station that does not come in on any car or home radio. FM and CD are fine....wife has the iPod in the Jeep...will check that later too.....

You should disconnect the battery when doing any electrical work but to be honest, with a stereo, I wouldn't bother.

Thanks Evilution....after looking at the owners manual I did it w/o disconnecting the battery....just made sure the key was in my pocket and hoped for the best! All was well!
