ck_az,
can I ask, how do you have your GPS attached? I want to attach my little Garmin Nuvi where you have yours. RAM makes a mount I can use, but I am wondering how you stuck your GPS to your dash.

Now you see it, now you don't.....

Good reception even in my garage with quick satellite acquisition. The extra cable is tucked up in the dash with a fast-tie. I need to come up with a way to hide the cable when the GPS is not in the car.

Is that a Kenwood 5120? If so, why would you have another Navi?

back to the topic... I have my antenna in the same location, however, may move to the open since map calculation is slightly off with the antenna hidden.

That's where I put the antenna for my GPS. Works fine.

EDIT: The 2610 has a combined power plug/speaker for the voice-nav to yell at you with when you get lost, which I plugged into the "accessory port" in the car, and ran the cord up through the dash & out the top near the pods. The antenna cable comes out of the dash in the same spot. I ground a notch with a Dremel tool in the edge of the radio trim for the cables to exit the dash. The GPS itself rides between the speedo cluster and the tach pod, resting (for now) in a Garmin no-slip beanbag mount until I decided whether to permanently mount one of their locking mounts in that spot. how did you attach the antenna to the roof? thank just relocated much better does not drop signal now like it did on the dash. the only thing is that my sirius antenna sticks out past the trim by a half inch. next i'm working on putting it on the top of the liftgate and hiding it under a bmw shark fin off a E93 hard top conv. pictures as soon as i figure out how to post

Hi brett2658,

My XM antenna was attached to the roof with double stick tape. That tape didn't hold up to the heat from the sun. So a bracket was added that tucked under the body panel.

My XM antenna was recently moved to the location in the front of the car above the tridion cell, hidden by the headliner. That has been the best place for my XM antenna.
