how to create a bluetooth stReaming radio from your stock radio!!!!

OK I figured id share this, for those who hate cords.

I went ahead and created a Bluetooth steaming radio from my stock stereo using a gateway and some power.

now with aftermarket stereos that support Bluetooth from what I understand support phone use but do not stream stereo from a blue tooth devise im going to show you what you need to do so.

First you need an mp3 player of some sort that supports Bluetooth if it doesn’t then just buy a dongle; I have one on my iPod until apple comes with the update later in the year. and then you need a Bluetooth stereo gateway, I used the black berry remote stereo gateway from best buy.

The rest is easy. just connect the gateway to your aux impute in the glove box, if you can hardwire a mini usb to it to power the unit from the cig lighter and rout it thru the glove box your set that is the hardest part. once that is done pair your mp3 player to your gateway and now you can control your stereo from 33 feet outside your car and have the iPod sitting any ware in your interior without cords, also the gateway remembers your pairing so you can leave take your iPod with you and when you come back and start the car it connects right away and the music starts. Its quite cool and no wires or cords of any kind ill post pics later. the gateway will turn off with the car also so it wont drain your battery.

also the volume is controlled this way so your ipod wont over amplify as it does with standard aux impute if your volume is maxed on the ipod and your sterio is tuned up you can blow your speakers with the bluetooth gateway way the sterio controlles your volume only and sliding the volume on the ipod does nothing so you wont blast the sterio by accadent !!!!

here are pics of what you need.

now remember the sony transmitter is only needed if your mp3 player does not stream bluetooth already if it does you wont need the sony blue tooth trasmitter the audio is that of a cd it does not distort or fade out like FM its trully stunning how easy and flawlessly it works. also phones will work with this also if they are bluetooth compliant 2.0 or higher

Well this looks easy except the USB wiring portion.
Start with
DIY USB and 110V
add
Blackberry Remote Stereo Gateway at MobileCityOnline.com
and
jWIN Wireless Adapter - I151 - Buy.com
But its going to cost over $100

ha ha yea i know water and electricity! well you guys know what i mean!

just stream music from your ipod to your radio without cords thats all, thought some people may like the idea so i thought id share!

fm transmitters suck and the reception is bad so this way they can enjoy perfect music and not get the static that fm transmitters give off sometimes.

Hey Nano
Not knowing those products well, do you always need to keep the Gateway pluged into power or does it have an internal battery?

Reading some reviews online, the Gateway needs to be plugged in as it has no batteries. It also doesn't come with the power cord so you need to get one separately (any mini USB cable will work).

Thanks for this information. Now I can stream my iPhone's music to my Radio 10 without cables. I only need to figure out how to strip a USB cable to plug it into the fuse box. Anyone able to provide some links with a how to?

Searched the forum but couldn't find it. I know its here somewhere.
