iphone and Smart?

I just got my Smart yesterday. I'm not sure how to connect my iPhone to the speaker system.

Can anyone help me out with a primer?

We've got the radio 10 on a passion.

Thanks!

Holly

I use an iCable from Monster Cable.

plugs into the headphone jack and then into the AUX input jack inside the glove box.

iPhone

The easiest is to connect any mp3/pod (your iPhone) headphone output to the mp3 glove box input and select the "aux" on the radio (see <saronian> post). But that will NOT charge your device.
Cheap: I. e. ($4.99)

Important note unique to the iPhone: you may need a 3.5mm Headphone Adapter for the Apple iPhone recessed headphone jack.
I. e. (on sale $3.95, normally $10+)

Check this thread for several elegant and more permanent solutions, some illustrated and some allowing the device to be charged while in use:

thanks and a follow up question

thanks for the quick and helpful replies.

One follow up question...
if I use the aux plug in the glove box,
do I have to leave the glove box door open? I dont see a place to thread the cord through. How do I run the iPod when it is closed in?

God I love this car! Its so dang fun to drive! Whatever has mileage I'm saving is being burned up by all the extra unnecessary trips for sure!

The first solution suggested will require to either pinch the cable somehow, or to let the iPod in "random play" for the duration. That is why I suggested:

Kensington LiquidAUX. Charges and connects to audio through the dock, has a remote control for the steering wheel rim, volume is controlled by the head unit. Also have a Griffin iSqueez, a foam rubber holder to go into the cupholder console (from ebay, its been replaced now by a similar thing that comes with cables that I didn't want because I got the LiquidAUX. It has a wide side for iPhone/PDA/iPod or a narrow side for phones and iPod mini/nano sized things. I'm happy.
