OK, one more pre-install question... I am wiring up the wiring harness to the kenwood. What do I hook the mute wire (brown) on the kenwood too?

Also, on the smart wiring harness there is a blue power antenna cable that I connected to the blue power ant wire on the kenwood. Is this correct? Why is there a power antenna wire on the wiring harness?? There is no power antenna on the smart!

mute wire= no connect, cap off. i have never hooked up that wire in all the smarts i have done. the wire harness is just a vw harness re pinned. its a euro thing. cap it off. do u listen to am radio. if so you need to mod the antenna adapter you got. fyi for everybody the vw ant. adpt has a resistor in it. it will kill you am. cut the motrola end off. get a new end and you will be good.

Napoleon, thx. If I cap off the mute wire (i.e. don't hook it up) will the radio mute when my bluetooth (KCA BT200) picks up the phone?

Also, your post says to cut the motrola end off... what is that?

BTW, I lived in Columbus for 5 years... good place.

yes it will mute if you are using the add on kenwood bt adapter. the the mail end of the vw antanna adapter. they call it a standard motorola end.
