more kenwood 5120 camera and xm questions

ok, guys, got the camera and xm installed, now the real questions begin!

the camera is supposed to have mirror view image, but it's not! something that is on my right, looks on the screen like it's on my left. what did the installer do wrong/how can i correct it?

regarding the xm, sometimes when i start up the car (after having the xm playing when i previously turned the car off), the xm does not play. the xm screen displays the channel, artist and song, but no audio. i try pressing the knob to 'unmute' it a couple times, turn the knob to increase the volume, etc. everything seems to work fine, but no sound comes out. so far, i can only get it to come back on by changing the source to 'tuner' (which btw works fine) and then back to xm. any ideas why this is happening?

Trena, reversing the camera image is a feature of the headunit, so you should be able to go into the menu and switch from one view to the other. Hopefully the installer gave you the manual, you should be able to find the procedure in there. Let us know what you find out as I'm considering this unit too.

I don't know about the XM though.

At the risk of sounding pedantic, what does the manual say? Not sure how your unit displays or controls XM; we have an XM commander in our Vette and it's connected thru the AUX input. However, the radio stays in AUX if that's where it was when the car was turned off. Have no idea if that's how your unit works.

Well, I couldn't find it in the manual, so that would be why I posted on here.... ;)

But I did figure the screen reversing thing tonight on my own. I put car in reverse to turn on the image and just hit the function key, and it reversed the image! Yayyyyy!!

Now on the xm, I'm still lost. JWIGHT, this is the kenwood head unit...it's totally different from the factory unit, complicated PITA, and the manual is not very easy to understand, either, IMO.

Thanks for trying, all! Will wait another day or so for an answer before trying some kind of kenwood forum.

ok, i lied. the fix i found for the camera image only works until i shift out of reverse and back again. then it's backwards again!

to add insult to injury, my car got keyed today! i've never gotten keyed in my life! i'm so mad i could scream, but on the bright side it's not as noticeable on the white. but it looks like it's actually into the plastic for about an 8 inch section.

Got the camera figured out (thanks Jwight and Kenwoodusa), tho it still doesn't make any sense. there is a place in AV setup to set camera mirrorview image to 'yes', but it was already on 'yes'. however, changing it to 'no' fixed the problem.

still waiting to hear from kenwood about the xm. the installer had to piggyback the cable from the xm module on the bluetooth cable, so now kenwood wants to know what bluetooth module version was installed in the car by my dealer's subcontractor. i'm checking that and getting back to them... will post when i know something.
