My new nav systems looks like it was factory installed!

I had a Pioneer AVIC-D3 nav system installed by Perzan Auto Radio. Larry Perzan is the owner and he was great! The telephone Number is 610-734-1234. He installed a Pioneer AVIC D3 with ipod. Larry imports custom dash kits for the Smart Fourtwo. The dash kit cost was $119 and looks like it is from the factory. I am very happy with the service from Perzan and how my new nav system looks. Larry took a picture for me. He also used the picture on his website, smartdashkits(dot)com

Best way is to post pictures on a site like Flickr or Webshots, then use the link to the picture and the yellow mountain icon on the reply editor to post the picture.

You can see more discussion about in dash GPS units here

In Dash GPS

After you post the picture it will look like this:

Or an in dash option I like better from Panasonic that looks like this:

$129 + the ride?

Jesus man!

Smarts'r'us is only $90... $40 is an aweful lot of markup. Considering that shipping for such a small package isn't horribly expensive from the UK.

The store had a dash kit from SmartsRus. Although it may look the same in a picture it isn't the same color and is flimsy. I could have saved $40 but I didn't want something that would scratch. I am very happy with my purchase!

Mfoster, to answer your question above, yes I purchased my Smart from Devon. I am very happy with the service and the professionalism of the dealership. It's pretty funny that 2 years ago the building housed a Maybach dealership. For the price of one Maybach you can get 25 Smart Cars!

Mine looks factory too, but I have a Kenwood system. I did the install myself. It was fairly easy thanks to the DIY websites I got off of the forum. The harness I bought was for a 86 and up VW, although I did have to repin some of the wires on it to match the Smart's harness. The dash kit I bought was from ebay from Passion UK. It cost $60 total witht he shipping with pounds to dollar conversion. The one I bought was for a single DIN, but the seller told me the center portion of the surround can be cut to accomodate a double DIN. Now all I need are new speakers because the factory ones aren't great at all. I want to wait till an aftermarket company makes one specifically for the Smart since I'm not comfortable cutting the door panels to make the speakers fit.

Jeff, congrats on your audio mod. I want it done as well but I'm torn because I like the way my dash looks but I want a large in dash navi combo unit and not the piece of crap portable garmin I bought. IMO, the portable gps units are just too small.

Thanks, Regina
