I am envious of all who read and understood this. I wish Cory1000 was my best friend.

No, the stereo system will all be removed before it goes.

More info to follow, but here are some pics of the rears that I just installed for a test fit. I decided to wrap the whole section in black to match the lower half of the trunk. Color matches much better then my crappy photography skills show...

Still to come, photos of my custom sub box and and amp rack! Its built and ready to install, but that will have to wait until tomorrow.

That wrapped section looks exactly what I'm looking for. I don't want a box sitting in the back and to be able to put a 2nd pair of speakers off to the side would be ideal. Is it something you made? or ordered?

I made the spacers and wrapped the piece myself.

A blast from the past! Cory1000 if your still around, how did you make the spacers for the rear Polks? I want to install some but don't know how to make the rings.

Cory sold his car shortly after posting this to restore a BMW Isetta. You can make rings out of MDF yourself, or buy them if you don't have the time or tools:

Thanks Brian R! I am looking at putting 4" polks like Cory and I don't have the "space" to do cutting like that. The one's on E-Bay look good so I'll PM them and see if they will do a set for 4" speakers. The only problem is shaping them to the curve of the plastic.

All righty then;I got the speakers and rings and I am ready to go!One last question;how much room is behind the panel? My rings are 3/4" and the speakers are the Polk401's which require a 2" mounting depth if I measured correctly. So for my sound system I have-Polk 651's in the doors,a Kenwood dpx-503 headunit with the colors set to match the insturments, the under-dash sub and a MTX 702 amp.I am looking for a CD changer to mount under the driverseat since the OEM sub is gone, any suggestions?
