That head unit is very nice from what I can tell, it's somewhat comparable to the Kenwood DNX5120. There's a $200 instant rebate if you buy from an authorize dealer, otherwise, you can still get the unit for less online (Ebay - no warranty).
The speakers are very nice, more than perfect for the price, do not hesitate ;-)
I wouldn't recommend the 8w7, it's too heavy, need a lot of power and require a box with almost 1cubic ft of space, the existing under dash boxes have less than .3, and don't forget that sub will take up a lot of space too. If you want JL, stay with the 8w3. I decided to save some money and went with a CDT-EF80 $60.00.
Why do you need a 5 channel amp for this application? The 5th channel is for the sub, so why would you bridge the othe 2 channels (i'm confused, you got a deal?). I had this exact same amp and it didn't last very long. I never abused it, yet still failed on me... I thought it was just my luck but a few people reported having the same exact problem. Don't forget this amp is somewhat humongus too, hence you'll need to install it in the cargo area. For the $$, get a 4 channel Alpine PDX or JL HD600, at least they can go underneath the passenger seat, less wire and cleaner install. Anyway, here's my setup, I'm starting the install this weekend.
Head Unit: Kenwood DNX5120 w/bluetooth & ipod cable (very fast with my iphone)
Speakers: Pioneer TS-C720PRS (powered by head unit)
AMP: Mono - Profile California AP700 (for sub only - cheap but good ratings on crutchfield)
Sub: CDT EF-80 200watts RMS (will be installed in a 4SMARTCAR box)
If you're looking to save money, EBay is your best friend, also check out woofersetc.com & sonicelectronix.com. Crutchfield has good sales too.
