New Head Unit Install

I am installing an alpine head unit and have a question about the wiring. (i tried searching but was not successful) I want to know about using the wiring harness and installing rear speakers. Do I need to run the rear speaker wires straight off of the head unit? Or do I have to wire the rears from somewhere else? I know the radio 10 has the sub wired crazily. Any help would be appreciated.

yes you will have to run rear wires. off the new head unit. the wire harness is a VW harness and a VW ant. adaptor. the sub is running off the front signal.

More info would helpful. What is your setup? Any amps? If you just adding rear speakers you will need to run wires from the head unit to the back.
