Since I was in Roseville, Ca. while my brother-in-law had open heart surgery, and since he was not allowed visitors, we talked on the phone and I decided I would look for the Navigation system I had been drooling over for months. I went to Fry’s Electronics and bought a Pioneer AVIC-Z3 and Infinity speakers. Fry’s was unable to provide me with the double DIN Dash kit nor the connection harness or the Ipod adapter so they sent me to Car Audio Innovations where I met Rod Birch.
What great luck for me as I found a better system in the Kenwood DNX 7120 paired with Hertz DEX165 Speakers at http://www.caraudioinnovations.com/. I took the Pioneer system and speakers back to Fry’s, and Rod and his crew, Tony and Steve took only 8 hours to perform the install, this coupled with answering at least 100 phone calls and providing service for customers at the counter throughout the day. I took as many pics as I could without getting in the way or slowing the install and will post them later. Steve and Tony did a great job on the install including Tony taking time to download the smart logo’s for me and getting them into the Kenwood. The system sounds GREAT!! From this customers view, these guys are professional grade. Anyone in the Sacramento Valley or San Francisco Bay Area looking for a great install or custom audio (their specialty) go to Car Audio Innovations in Roseville and see Rod.
The Kenwood 7120 is running Garmin maps and costs only $99 to upgrade. Software upgrades are free for download from the Garmin web page. The 7120 can access all input sources from the touch screen and it is hands free, Bluetooth ready, requiring an adapter. The Kenwood 8120 has Bluetooth built in.

Did you get bluetooth on this and if so, how satisfied are you with the quality of your audio on the other end...Do the people you're talking to hear you well?
Didn't but it is available, so I can't do an evaluation for that. The 8120 has that capability built in so...no adapter!! I'm really happy with this unit and especially the install. You would have thought they were working on a Lamborghini!!
Anymore pictures of it installed? I know the first thing im going to do if i get a smart is swap out the stereo. The kenwood looks like one of the largest screen units.
