New Thin Line Subwoofer

I just placed an order for a thin line TW5 Line 12 inch sub from JL. Since you guys are trying to find a thin sub that will fit under the seat you guys might want to look into building a box like evilution specified but maybe changing the subwoofer size and type. I am going to fabricate a simple square box, 14 X 14 (maybe a little wider that is 3 inches deep. The speaker is a 2.5 inches deep meaning it can fit in a very small area. I am going to measure out the back and the area behind the seats to see if it is doable. After that its box building time (my specialty).

This requires a very small amount of space compared to a normal sub.

Here is a picture of the sub from JL's site:

build the right box and use the right amp and that thing will hammer. seat might vibrate a ton but it will sound great. have used thoses subs in a couple of install and they are great. if you have the space under the seat which is not much u might want to consider making the box for down firing.

Do think you will be able to get .63cubes out of your box?

Depends on placement... I am going to measure everything out in the car.. Under the seat is pushing it... I forgot someone has to sit in that seat to (my girlfriend) and I do not think she wants a vibration under her tush...

My second option is just building a thin line box with enough space for some air flow in the box. Since I am on limited trunk space I do not want the box taking up the whole cargo area.

I agree with you 100%. Good you brought up the vibration, I do not think my girlfriend will like that.
