I installed the Polk db651's with no problems. The shallow-mount models are unnecessary.

I got db675s (6 3/4" European size) from amazon. They're discontinued, but amazon bought the entire remaining stock. They fit fine; they have noticeably more low end extension than the 6.5" (to my ear more so than on paper).

Regular size is fine. The door is deep enough.

brian r, thanks for the tip I checked out Amazon, but then just out of curiosity I checked ebay and picked up a brand new pair for $40 including shipping!

Good! Send me 1/2 of the extra $59 you would have spent ordering from Crutchfield like I did and we can both benefit from the same deal... hehehe

hey bull, did you install yourself? I already have my system in I was just going to install the speakers myself but have yet to take the door panels off.. I did however remove the back valence with no problems. I checked Evilution's site for door panel removal and it seems simple enough...or is it? sorry you paid more but you are already enjoying the music and I'm waiting.....

I saw them available on ebay too, but I have a few Amazon gift cards, so they really didn't cost me anything. I was surprised Crutchfield didn't have them, since they routinely buy out their vendor's discontinued models. They still would have been the most expensive way to go (almost always is).

Ok, you got me there.... I am already enjoying the tunes.
Anyway, the door panels are easy to remove. The mirrors are a bit awkward until you do the first one, then you realize just how easy it really is.
The sticking point for me was getting the panel back on. Once you slide the rear of the door forward under the door handle, you will have to squeeze a bit to get the front lip to "SNAP" back in place. It will fall off if you let go, but definitely won't "fall" on!

Hello

Okay this is likely to be the dumbest question on earth.....

Do you take the inside of the door off, or the outside to replace the speakers.....

Okay - stop laughing.....

Cheers
