Radio 10 Jammed?

I just went to move my car last night and I heard the CD player making a whole bunch of noises, went to go into CD mode, and it just said "CD LOADING" and than it would kick me out of CD mode, and back to radio.

Called my smart center and they are going to look at it Monday, my question is, this is going to be part of the Warranty right?

I'm going on a 400 mi road trip and was really hoping to listen to a few CDs I had in there... looks like I'm very happy the smart has a AUX in jack for the ipod!!!

I have had my CD player do this a few times before. It needs to go through all of the CD laoded in it. It can take up to 3 minutes to complete. Normal process.

Its happened to me a bunch of times. It will take a long time for it to cycle. For some reason though it only does it occasionally and not all the time.
I had thought its because I had burned CD's in there. I would just keep pushing CD until a CD would load finally and play. It did take around 3 mins or so.

Same here. At almost 6.000 miles, the radio 10 still does its CD routine now and then. As posted before, it gets itself back to normal within a minute or two.

PS: hope you don't mind me moving this thread to "Audio"?

The "losing memory" issue of Radio 10 is usually triggered by the battery being low. This happened to me for a while before I started having odd issues with the car (flickering lights, radio shut off during a shift, then car wouldn't start...)

If the radio detects the voltage is too low when it's in it's "sleep-mode" it will turn itself off and cold start next time. A cold start can take up to 5 minutes if you have MP3 CDs loaded in all 6 slots.

Check your battery level. I'd bet you're near the lower side. If so, I'd advise you trickle charge it over night before your trip. (And take the charger with you, with a long extension cord, just in case. )

It started working again, took 5-10 minutes before CD just appeared in the lower corner of the screen. It even remembered where I was in a CD.
I haven't noticed anything weird with the battery, but for the next few days will be the test as I won't be driving it and its going to be sitting in -10 to 15 degree weather.

A little wierd but just happy the changer works!

Thanks guys.
