Hey guys,

I have bought 1 pair of pioneer speakers that did not fit and than one pair of alpine speakers that didnt fit either. So, Im tierd of removing the door panels by now!

Could anybody in here give me examples of speakers that fits the 451 without ANY modification?

Thanks alot!

I believe the Polk DB651's fit without modification. I had installed the DB675's and I just used a dremel to get rid of the surrounding plastic area to it would fit. It wasn't hard.

Yeah, I fit the Alpine SPS-600s in without modification. I only had two very minor issues.

I had to get screws that were the right length. I actually just used a pair of side cutters to cut some screws to length.

And there are little white plastic tabs that I had to bend back a bit to get the bracket to mount flush. All the tabs were there for was to hold the stock speakers in place.

Once I found the mounting bracket that come with the speakers I lined up the holes and it worked great.

The main thing you need to find is speakers that have 2 1/4" mounting depth. [Corrected]

6 1/4" depth???

I think you mean that any standard (not 6 3/4 or 165mm) 6 1/4" speaker will work.

Cutting the tabs for the original speakers off is no big deal; you need to lop off the tabs holding the original grill anyway.

The smart harness will not fit any other speakers. You need to a) splice on wire that came with the new speakers, 2) crimp on new connectors after cutting off the harness' original plug, or 3) break the connector off the original speakers and soulder it onto the new speakers.

6 1/4" DEPTH would be ridiculous. You'd have to cut your panels!

Oops, I meant 2 1/4" mounting depth. Sorry about that. Brain fart.

And the tabs I was talking about are on the car not on the speaker itself. I meant the white tabs around the mounting position that hold the speaker in place.
