smart GPS accessory mount

Hi All:

Does anyone happen to know if one can purchase the OEM smart GPS mount separately from the whole package (with the GPS unit)? I'm interested in the new one that they are coming out with - as I already have the Garmin Nuvi that it is based off of.

I know the new one is not out yet, but I'm kind of curious - surely the thing has to have separate part numbers for the parts in case someone breaks something or has multiple cars?

The smart/garmin sat nav has a different docking connector so I seriously doubt the smart dock will fit what you already have.

From what I saw, the new one uses the same connector (mini USB) as mine.

Not bad on the garmin mount.

I'd like to do a semi-permanent mount, hence the wanting of the factory accessory mount, and directing through the audio system would not be a bad idea, either - need to look into the firmware for that, but thats no bother - if it can be hacked, I'll do it.

I have my windshield bracket, which I am going to be using for a bit at first, plus when I move between the VUE and smart. I have a ton of mini-USB cables around here, so I am thinking of cutting one and running it up to the base of the windshield, from under the piece where the pods are mounted, and wiring it to be switched with the ignition. I like mine as close to the base of the windshield as possible, and towards the center of the car, rather than off to one side.

From what I could see from the pics on Kane's site - there is a separate part # on the old one...I'm hoping the nav-II mount will be similar.

I still would like the mount pictured here, though:
