i would say over kill in a smart. what are u looking for. tight accurate base or loud boomin. from what u said if u want to be heard 4 blocks away ported. i guess my only question is why put all that in a smart. 4000 watt amp. that would kill most cars or trucks (suv) charging system in a heart beat. at a cost standpoint, upgrading the batt, alt, the other major grounds in the car. your pulling a ton of amps. to each his own. not knocking you, but why. thats just like doing it in an old rusted out pinto. u would rattle the rust off the car in seconds. on a side note i would love to see a smart run in spl comp. it would be funny

You won't be hearing them for much longer, at 143dB...

Oh; and the word is spelled "know" in this context, not "no." Learn how to spell and punctuate correctly, wouldja?

Yeah.... i wouldn't DREAM of putting two 12's.... or even probably two 10's in the back of the Smart. In a truck or SUV.... yeah.... they make sense. Fairly large amount of room, and typically have some way of making sure the passenger cabin has room to breathe. My '99 Durango had little baffles behind the tail lights to make sure air could easily escape, and when i had two 12's in the back of that with the volume even remotely up, the only thing i heard moving were those baffles.... so they were doing their job quite well. The Smart..... doesn't have anything like that. It feels as air-tight as my old VW Golf. You know.... how it takes a fair bit more effort to close the doors with the windows closed than it does with the windows open?

Like the others said..... be sure to post pics.... especially after you blow out a window or a door trying to get the same sound you have in your truck.

lol i dont have a truck and i no i am the worst speller ever i try. i have a talon its kinda a hatch back and my ears are doing just fine like i said i have been around bass for a very long time and i not crank it up all the time just with people wanna here it most of the time my bass is all the way nagitive. the reason im doing this is do be diffrent and the 4000 watt amp is 4000 max and 2000 rms you almost never see max amp's so im not worried and i have a optima red top in the talon so i can take that out and put it in the smart...where is the battery on the smart anyways?

Joey, You truly have the passion and fever of a seventeen year old. If properly funneled that can be a good thing and perhaps a life long career may emerge from it. but as I see it your smart will only impress the childish and the rest of us will only see it as a waste of time, effort, money, and even though you say otherwise... your ears. I can see that you have some experience with rad radio setups but little knowledge in audiophile sound. 6x9s are the equivalent of K-mart spinners hubcaps back in the 90s. DO some research, educate your self as well as your ears.. then proceed with a design based on a strong well thought out design. you will be rewarded well beyond your initial dream of making people think of your as "cool" when they see and hear a true sound system and not a SPL rattle box.

wouldn't exactly say 6x9's are the equivalent of spinners. good quality 6x8's produce great sound quality, and don't really need all that much more space to do so. But my initial statement still stands. with how air-tight the Smart seems to be, i don't think pumping out massive amounts of bass is the greatest thing.
