na thats all show no go they are capitalizing on the old name "stroker"
this is a woofer
http://www.woofersetc.com/p5787/XXX1...-Subwoofer.htm
i have them thats an amazing woofer

really you need to decide a budget and how much of an improvement are you lookign for ?

also how secure does it need to be ?
do you drive to school work or park in a parking lot where its unattended for long times

if you have a loud stereo in a very recognizable car and leave it unattended for long periods of time expect to be fixing a broken window and ripped parts like your dash wiring and box amp setup

there isnt a trunk to lock stuff into so if they break a window its gone and if you want to mount a prefab box you will have a bich of a time getting to the engine ,not that its impossible but difficult

but if you mount a small woofer under the dash like alot of ppl do its very hard to steal sounds good and takes up no space

This thread is great! People seem to be very polarized over big systems. To each his own. People have been modifying cars for decades, making them suit their individual styles and taste. Big stereos are like loud exhausts on cars or bikes. People like them because they get attention! I agree they can be annoying, but so can a loud Harley exhaust or a high flow exhaust on a Mustang. If someone wants to listen loud in their car, have at it.

Big systems have been done in Smart cars in Europe for years and many shops and manufacturers have built them here in the US. You can easily put multiple 10" or 12" drivers in back or perhaps a single 15". Getting the system to be balanced, clean and loud requires more than just a bunch of speakers. I have used the 8" underdash sub, IBEAMS and a single 12". Personally, the 12" is the best but takes up the entire rear of the Smarty. If you can live with that, do it.

Do your homework.

The Smart electrical system will not support a 4K watt amplifier. I don't care what you do to it, it won't work. Physics. You will end up wasting money, damaging your car and God only knows what else. There are several people on this site that have "big systems" in their Smarts. Read their posts, research and build a system that does what you want it to.

Good luck!

thank you for the support roadking and as i have mentiond befor the amp is 2000 watts rms and 4000 max but amps NEVER see max so the most it would see it 2500 at most so its a little less stress on it and like i have said befor i have been pushing 1500 through my ****ty wallmart batter and a 65 amp alternator and its been fine so im not worried because i will be getting the red top and the smarts alternator is 90 amps so once again thanks for all the support from everybody. i will be going with one 12 but i dont want to give away any specs right now i want it to be a suprise but if rexxxlo wants to help i should be working very close with him and hopfully haveing the loudest smart in the midwest i no its a big goal but i like to shoot high and i no people are going to think im going to be blareing this all over town well im not i will have a remote bass controler mounted right next to me that controles the amp so it will be down most of the time.

After I bought my Brabus, the first thing I did was change the system.I put in a Pioneer AVIC-Z3 with a pair of JL Audio C5-650X speakers and a Smart Madness sub with a JL Audio speaker.I powered them with a Arc Audio KS125.4 poweramp, sending 75 watts to each C5,and 250 watts to the sub.It sounded really good, just not enough thump,so I added a Pioneer Premier TS-SW1241D shallow 12" sub with a Pioneer UD-SW12B sealed enclosure, and powered it with a JL Audio 500/1 poweramp! This really did the trick!!!! I set it up to where if I need trunk space,I can unplug the Pioneer sub, pull it out of the back(I strapped it to the back compartment door)and still have the JL sub(which still sounds good). The combination of both subs sounds amazing!!
