I was surprised how easy the door skins and front cover comes off. I ran new speaker wire 14gauge 4 conductor from the crossovers under the dash through the firewall and into the doors. I made a speaker ring out of 3/4" MDF that sits inside the door panel for the midbass to attach to. I was in the zone working and forgot to take pictures. For the tweeters I hole sawed the interior mirror cover trim. To fill in the gap between the tweeter cups and trim I used Marglass, spot putty and sprayed with SEM Trim Black. The crossovers are mounted under the dash on each side.
I was able to get .51 cubes of internal volume out of the sub enclosure. It was a tight one. I originally planned on using a shallow mount Type S sub (in one pic) When I found out how much depth I got out of it I switched it to the Type R sub. The pic showing the dash is with the sub enclosure installed. You can't see the sub unless you look under the dash. The PDX 4.150 is mounted under the passenger seat.
The system came out great. It hits hard and sounds clean even with the top down on the freeway. I'm very happy with it. Not only did I not take up any storage space, I created more removing the factory sub box.
